Married at First Sight UK spoilers follow.

It was time for the stars of Married at First Sight UK to meet each other during this season's first dinner party, but a bombshell drove a wedge between one couple.

In tonight's (September 25) episode, the participants moved in together with their spouses, though both Charlie Curtis and Orson Nurse were left partner-less following some difficult times during their honeymoons.

While Charlie and Eve Reid managed to patch things up right before the big night, Orson showed up alone saying that Richelle Case needed some time.

Despite Holly Ditchfield and Alex Henry having gone strong up to that point, a row between them brought the drama to the dinner party after Sacha Jones revealed what he said during the stag do.

According to Sacha, Alex told her husband Ross McCarthy he'd be open to swapping partners if he didn't like them. Alex hadn't met Holly at that point, but she thought his approach was "disrespectful" to the experiment.

Alex explained his point of view, saying: "I said, 'If I don't like my wife, I'm not gonna pursue something with somebody I don't like.'"

Holly insisted that his attitude was "setting a bad vibe", though Alex got defensive, saying: "You're coming at me sideways."

"If you're only going to keep talking over me, the conversation is done," Alex said before Holly stormed out.

The dinner wasn't off to a great start, as the couple hadn't smoothed things out, with expert Paul C Brunson noting that Alex was too focused to not be perceived as "weak" by others.

"I suspect the biggest issue Alex has is his ego," Paul said, as he, Melanie Schilling and Charlene Douglas watched the couples tuck into their dinner.

When Alex realised that Holly was still discussing their row with Sacha, he moved his chair away from hers and sat at the other end of the table.

"You're behaving like a child," Holly said, but Alex pretended not to hear.

"The comment was so small and insignificant, and I'm really not into that," he continued, dismissing Polly Sellman's attempts to defend Holly.

"I'm not coping with someone who's so disrespectful," Holly said before storming out.

At the end of the episode, Alex and Holly had a one-on-one chat. She opened up on her insecurities after hearing his comments, fearing he'd leave her for "someone better" but was upset to not get any reassurances.

She then decided to spend the night apart from him, as he later told producers: "I don't think I can move past this."
