MAFS UK's Adam responds to backlash over sex comment
Married At First Sight UK groom Adam Nightingale has addressed his controversial comment during the reunion.
Adam, who wed careers advisor Polly Sellman on the reality TV show, had had plenty of clashes with his bride throughout the latest series.
But the reunion episode saw fans witness their most explosive row yet that ended in Polly dousing her ex-partner in red wine, with what Adam said sparking backlash among fans.
Adam accused Polly of attacking him online and posting cryptic Instagram posts that alluded to him.

"You've been putting Instagram posts about me, social media posts about me, digging me out in the group chats, my social media in the girls group chat. I haven't bitched about you," he began, to which Polly responded in equally fiery fashion.
"Are you f**king joking? Back off. Every time I've spoken to you, you treat me like a piece of shit. You'd only listen if it was to your voice on record," she said.
Adam went on to ask why Polly was "bitching" about someone who doesn't want her, and detailed intimate information about their sex life to the group, claiming that Polly begged him for sex.
"You used to lie in bed and ask, 'Why won't you f**k me?'. You used to moan like a child," he said, leading Polly to throw her drink at him before storming out of the room.

Their fellow contestants and fans alike were left shocked by the interaction, with many chastising Adam for the way in which he spoke to Polly and for divulging personal details about their relationship.
Following the episode, Adam has taken to Instagram to address the argument, claiming the comments did not come "out of nowhere".
Sharing a picture of himself from the reunion, he began on his Stories: "I was so drunk, think we all seen the eyes.
"Edit made it look like I said the sex comments out of nowhere.. but I got accused of using her for sex.. and leading her on..

"Holly stuck up for me and said, 'No, he didn't, you said you just wanted sex and you'd [have] been happy', or something along them lines."
In a post on his Grid, he made light of the red wine incident, writing: "Reunion 🎉 Came in looking like Austin Powers and bumped into Doctor Evil.
"After time apart and time to reflect, you’d think we would have a lovely reunion !! But more lies and more attacks come flying 🍷 Swipe to the end to see me go from green to red."
Polly has also responded to the episode in an Instagram post, making a cheeky joke about her much-talked-about drink-throwing moment.

Sharing a promotional picture of herself ahead of the reunion as well as grabs from the episode itself, she wrote: "With the amount of lines that were crossed tonight, I feel Usain Bolt should've got an invite...
"On a serious note though, I know my truth and I stand in that. No one knows what we've been through as much as we do ourselves, but speaking for myself, there was a lot of behaviour that I concealed for weeks and there's only so much someone can take before they quite literally see red..."
In a separate Stories post, she explained why she had turned comments off on her Instagram page, saying: "Guys, I love ya but I'm turning my comments off again.
"1) I'm away with my friends and I'm glued to my phone, which isn't what I've paid to spend my week doing.

"2) I'm okay with comments and opinions about people being on Adam's side as people are entitled to have their say about both of us, but insults will be removed.
"3) It's MY social media and the only one I have sole control over. I'm the only one in control of keeping my mental health in a good place, and I shouldn't be slandered for that or have anyone else thinking it's because I can't and don't wanna hear what people have to say."
She ended: "TY love u all", before sharing insights into her cosy weekend away with friends while also reposting reactions from fans to the episode.
