Everyone's favourite "tart with a heart" Maggie Muff is back and she's feeling awful reflective.

In January 2013, during the height of the flag protests Maggie Muff, played by Caroline Curran, burst onto the MAC stage and has become a local theatre icon ever since.

Created by award-winning playwright Leesa Harker, Maggie thought she had taken her final bow in Belfast back in 2023 in 'Maggie – Yer Ma' but it appears she's having "more comebacks than Boyzone".

Bringing the Maggie Muff shenanigans into 2025, ‘Maggie’ is the whole story and will feature the best bits from all four Maggie plays in one hilarious show - running from January 22 to February 9 at the MAC Belfast.

It will also then tour Northern Ireland until February 16 stopping at the Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey, The Marketplace, Armagh, Riverside, Coleraine, Burnavon Cookstown and Island Arts, Lisburn.

On why she wanted to bring the iconic character back for one last wild ride, Leesa said fans were always in contact to share their disappointment in missing one of the previous shows in the Maggie Muff universe.

A description of the show reads: "Missed the Feg Run? Never seen the original 50 Shades of Red, White and Blue? Well, now is your chance to catch up with ‘Le Muff!’

"Maggie is back with a brand-new show which is the whole story – all four Maggie plays – in one show!

"We’re talking Mr Red, White and Blue and his ‘red room of pain’, getting caught short at Dirty Dancing lessons, a Benidorm feg run to remember and of course, Maggie finally finds out who her da is... All the laughs and all the highlights!"

The play starts many years after the last play, 'Maggie - Yer Ma’ ends.

Maggie’s only child, daughter Prosecco, is in labour – and Maggie’s ‘late.’ Maggie bolts to the labour ward to welcome her new grandchild into the world but is worried she is pregnant again herself.

As she waits for the birth, she looks over her life – warts and all. As Maggie becomes a granny, will she be becoming a Ma again too?

Leesa said: "I get requests almost daily from Maggie fans who either missed one of the plays or would love to see one again so I thought, why not write one play that combines all the best bits into one production – and hopefully then everyone who loves the shows can see them again or even newbies to Maggie can come and see what it’s all about!”

Caroline Curran returns to star and Andrea Montgomery once again takes on the director's chair.
