Magnet to open first Kent franchise within days after shop previously closed

Kitchen brand Magnet is launching its first franchise in Kent within days. The newly-refurbished showroom has created four jobs and it will open on June 20.

It will see a return of the brand to Calverley Road in Tunbridge Wells after Magnet Kitchens shut earlier this month. The franchise is being taken on by Hengate Homes Ltd, which Companies House shows was launched in January and is based in Epsom in Surrey.

Its directors are Ben Thornton and Kenny Devlin who will be using their company Lime Installations to offer customers an installation service when they buy their kitchen. The store manager is John May, who began as a driver and warehouse employee for Magnet before moving up to trade manager at the company's Kingston branch in south west London.

He said: "I'm delighted to be back working in Tunbridge Wells. with such a talented design team. We're excited to unveil our beautifully refurbished store, featuring a stunning range of kitchens, leading brands of appliances, and quality work surfaces.
