Maison Assouline has been named as one of Gucci's 'must-visit' destinations

While publishing house Maison Assouline may be typically associated with selling stylish books, it has now taken one step further by associating itself with a fashion house.

Maison Assouline, in Piccadilly, has been selected as the first Gucci Place destination in London.

It will now sit alongside places such as Chatsworth House in Bakewell, Derbyshire, Castello Sonnino in Tuscany, Italy and Bibo restaurant in Hong Kong as one of the fashion houses’ “must visit” destinations.

As a result of the selection, Gucci is planning to sell products, based on the Courrier collection, which will feature patches emblazoned with the publisher’s name. They will also be available to purchase at Masion Assouline’s shop and the nearest Gucci shop in the Sloane Street boutique.

Prosper and Martine Assouline, founders of the publishing house, said: “We’re pleased for Maison Assouline to be the first Gucci Place in London and proud to reflect the taste and values peculiar to the Gucci House.”

Gucci’s initiative, which was launched last summer, is designed to invite people to explore locations around the world that have inspired the world famous fashion House. It also operates as an app which has been configured to use the location of a user’s mobile device so that a notification will pop up when the user is near to a Gucci Place destination.

When in the Gucci Place, the App allows users to check in and win a badge associated with it. You can collect the badges of all the Places recommended by Gucci which then can be shared on social media.
