Major A55 resurfacing will see 12 days of closures with diversion in place

A "major maintenance" scheme is set to start on the A55 later this month. Welsh Government will be carrying out resurfacing on the dual carriageway between Junction 11 at Llandygai and Junction 10 Caernarfon Road, Bangor.

This is being done in the westbound carriageway with work due to start on September 30. The work is expected to take until October 11 to complete.

During the works - - described as "major maintenance" - there will be daytime lane closures in the westbound carriageway. There will also be complete carriageway closures overnight with a diversion in place around the roadworks.

Traffic Wales said: "Work to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing to a 3Km section of the A55 Westbound carriageway between J11 Llandygai and J10 Caernarfon Road, Bangor will commence on the 30/09/2024.

"Overnight closures westbound between J11 Llandygai to J10 Caernarfon Road and J10 westbound off slip from 19:00-06:00. Daytime lane closures westbound between J11 Llandygai to J10 Caernarfon Road from 06:00-19:00."
