Major blaze at Dundee flat as emergency services rush to scene
Fire crews tackled a major blaze in Dundee overnight, after flames were spotted bursting out the roof of a building.
A fire broke out in flats in the city's Princes Street. Scottish Fire and Rescue were scrambled to the scene at 8.40pm on Thursday, September 5.
Six appliances and an aerial unit were scrambled to the scene to tackle the inferno. Police and ambulance crews were also in attendance.

Footage from shocked onlookers showed huge flames bursting out of the roof of the property. Fire engines can be seen lined along the street as crews battle to get the blaze under control.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two appliances were still on the scene as of 7.15am on Friday. The fire was extinguished later that same morning
The spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.40pm on Thursday, 5 September to reports of a fire within a residential building on Graham Place in Dundee.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire engines and a height appliance to the scene. Crews extinguished the fire and will ensure the area is made safe before leaving the scene.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.50pm on Thursday, 5 September, 2024, police received a report of a flat fire in the Graham Place area of Dundee.
"A number of residents were evacuated, with no injuries reported. Officers continue to assist our colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at the scene.”
