In what's arguably the biggest clue so far that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry plan to settle in Canada permanently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have redeployed all their Frogmore Cottage staff to other jobs.
According to Mail Online, two permanent employees at the official Windsor residence - a house manager and a cleaner – are being relocated within the royal family to work elsewhere within the Queen’s household. Other shift-based workers, including chefs, maids and footmen, are also being let go as their services are "no longer required".
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved into Frogmore Cottage, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, just under a year ago. The property was previously being used as staff accommodation for people who worked on the Windsor Estate, and had been split into five units, but it underwent renovations to turn it into a family home for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ahead of their son Archie's birth.
But ever since it was announced last week that the couple plan to step down as senior members of the royal family, becoming financially independent and splitting their time between the UK and North America, their future in the Windsor residence has been uncertain.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, the removal of staff from Frogmore Cottage is a pretty big sign Meghan, Harry and baby Archie may not be sticking around. Currently, Meghan is back in Canada, where Archie remained while his parents travelled to the UK to break the news about their proposed role changes within the royal family.
The Duchess has been photographed several times in the Vancouver area since, where it seems she's been getting stuck in to charity work already. On Tuesday, Meghan was pictured visiting the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre in Vancouver, where she spoke to its workers and members about issues women in the local area are facing. On the same day, she also took a trip to the charity Justice For Girls to learn more about their important work.
While Prince Harry hasn't joined his family in Canada just yet - he's busy in the UK ironing out the finer details of his family's future with the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William - two other members of the Sussex clan are accompanying Meghan and Archie in their new home.
According to reports, the Sussexes flew their dogs - beagle Guy and a black labrador whose name is still unknown - to Canada back in November for their six-week break. Understandably, that's been taken as yet another sign the family is not planning to be in Britain much going forward.
If that is the case, then our loss is Canada's gain, and hopefully Meghan and Harry will find the happiness they deserve there, living a less 'royal' life.
