Deaths: A further 353 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, with deaths occurring between 24 October and 23 November. There were 41 deaths in Scotland, 21 in Wales and 11 in Northern Ireland.

There were 2,466 coronavirus deaths in the week up to 13 November in England and Wales. It’s the highest figure since May. Read more here.

England’s tiers plan: The government has said people living in Tier 3 regions will not be able to visit other parts of the UK, but will be able to go abroad. Grant Shapps said people would still potentially have to quarantine when they come back depending on where they visited. Read more here.

Shops in Tiers 2 and 3 in England could face closure and fines if they breach coronavirus guidance after the national lockdown ends. Councils in Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas will be able to impose swift penalty notices of up to £4,000, Number 10 has revealed. Read more here.

Northern Ireland: Every household in Northern Ireland will be given a £200 voucher to support their local high street. Conor Murphy, finance minister, said it would help support businesses, rather than households. Read more here.

Scotland: East Lothian moved down from Tier 3 to 2 this week, but there won’t be any other changes, Nicola Sturgeon has said. The majority of Scots remain in the first of three weeks of strict measures that have closed all non-essential shops and prevented travel to other areas. Read more here.

Christmas: Plans for the festive period are being discussed on Tuesday between the UK and devolved government, as people are likely to be travelling between the nations to celebrate. Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon said there could be a “slight and careful” easing of the rules. Read more here.

People have been told to consider avoiding travelling by train at Christmas because of planned rail engineering works. Transport secretary Grant Shapps said on Tuesday that people should “look very carefully” at their festive travel plans. Read more here.

Testing: Boris Johnson has been accused of making “grand promises” after MPs in Hull claimed the city has been waiting two weeks to receive 10,000 coronavirus tests. Karl Turner, Labour MP for Kingston upon Hull East, tweeted on Monday: “Boris Johnson is boasting again about the so called ‘rapid’ lateral flaw [sic] tests but Hull were offered 10K of these more than two weeks ago yet we still haven’t received a single test.” Read more here.
