Major energy firm urges five million customers to claim free £120 off bill
Scottish Power is handing energy customers a free £120 payment for referring a friend. ScottishPower serves millions of customers across the UK with the latest estimates back in 2022 suggesting as many as five million customers are signed up.
"As a ScottishPower energy customer, you can share up to £120 credit when you refer a friend. And with unlimited invites, the more friends you refer, the more credit you earn," Scottish Power has said in a message to its loyal customers.
Explaining its FAQ, the firm said: "How does Refer a Friend work? Simply share your unique referral link, found in your online account or in our app, with a friend or friends. They can then use your link to switch to ScottishPower. Once they’ve been on supply with us for at least 28 days, we’ll credit both your accounts with up to £60 energy credit each.

"How much credit can I earn? You and a friend will get £60 energy credit each if your friend switches their gas and electricity to ScottishPower. If your friend switches just their gas or their electricity to us, you’ll get £30 credit each.
"When will I get paid my credit? We’ll credit both your energy accounts when your friend has been on supply with us for at least 28 days. You’ll be able to see the credit added in your online account and on your bill.
"How many times can I refer a friend? You can refer unlimited friends to ScottishPower, making it a great way to save money on your energy bills. How do I share my unique referral link? Once you’ve copied the link found in your online account or in our app, you can share it on any social channel (Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram) or send it in an email. You could also share your link with a friend over a cup of coffee!
