Major Island road closed due to dangerous tree
ISLAND Roads staff are removing a dangerous tree leaning over a main Isle of Wight road this afternoon (Wednesday).
Workers are en route to Beaper Shute, between Brading in Ryde.
They will be removing a tree leaning dangerously into the road.
The road is being closed between Tesco Roundabout and Carpenters Road.
Island Roads has apologised for an inconvenience caused.
"We’ll re-open the road as soon as safe to do so," said a spokesperson for the highway service.
Routes 2 & 3 - Beaper Shute closed - tree down. Buses to Ryde divert from Rowborough Corner to St Helens, Nettlestone & Apply to serve Tesco & resume normal route. Buses to Newport to operate in opposite direction from Tesco. Significant delays inevitable due to lengthy diversion
