Major Power Outage at RDU Airport Causes Long Queues

Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina experienced a major power outage in Terminal 2 starting early Friday, November, 12, that was “impacting our ability to serve passengers,” the airport said on Twitter.

Local media reported long queues in terminal 2, with only the emergency lighting working.

The outage began around 1:30-2 am on Friday, local media reported. The airport was still experiencing a major power disruption by the latest report, from just before 6am local time.

RDU Airport said travelers should check directly with their airline for flight status before coming to the airport. Terminal 1 was operating as normal.
