Major rail company cancels vital services calling at Cumbria
Services provided by a major rail journey provider are cancelled today.
Some services provided by Trans Pennine Express (TPE) between Scotland and Manchester, which call at Carlisle, are cancelled.
These are:
The 12:12 pm service from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport.
The 1:10 pm service from Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central
The 5:07 pm service from Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport
The 6:11 pm service from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport

There are also some amendments to services today, which sees the trains stopping at different stations than planned.
These are:
The 2:10 pm service from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh – to terminate at Preston
The 2:12 pm service from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport – to terminate at Carlisle
The 4:10 pm service from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh – to start at Manchester Piccadilly
The 6:10 pm service from Manchester Airport to Edinburgh – to start at Carlisle
The 8:11 pm service from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport – to terminate at Carlisle
A spokesperson from TPE said they’ve had to cancel these services due to high levels of staff sickness which has been exacerbated by strike action.
