Major road closed after car and bus crash
A major road was closed this afternoon after a bus and a car crashed outside Wavertree Police Station. Emergency services were called to the junction of Durning Road and Wavertree Road, Edge Hill at around 3.05pm on Wednesday, October 2.
Merseyside Police has confirmed the crash involved a Ford Focus and a bus. The North West ambulance service has also been called to the scene and a road closure has been put in place in both directions. Injuries have not been confirmed at this stage.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix confirmed the closure. It said: "Wavertree Road in both directions partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident at Harbord Street."
Pictures taken at the scene show two damaged vehicles, a bus and a car, at the scene. The force has asked that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route.
