Major search and rescue operation in Devon continues
Police are urging any witnesses to come forward as a major multi-agency search and rescue operation continues in Devon. Emergency services were called this morning, Saturday, November 23, just before 10 am with concerns about an object spotted in the river at Salcombe Road in Sidmouth.
A coastguard helicopter was spotted circling the area. However, it has been reported that the number of searches at the scene are reducing as nothing has yet to be located.
A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall police shared: "Emergency services were called shortly before 10am today to the river at Salcombe Road in Sidmouth, after members of the public reported concerns about an object seen in the water.

"A multi-agency search and rescue operation took place but at this time nothing has been located. Searches at the scene are reducing however enquiries remain ongoing and we continue to ask anyone with information which may assist us is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 236 of 23 November."
