Malique Thompson-Dwyer making Hollyoaks return

·2-min read

Former I'm a Celebrity star Malique Thompson-Dwyer will be returning to Hollyoaks.

While Lime Productions has yet to confirm the big news, The Sun reported on Tuesday (June 29) that the actor has started filming new scenes as Prince McQueen this week.

Thompson-Dwyer also shared a photo on his Instagram Story earlier in the day seemingly shot from the Hollyoaks set in Chester.

Prince made an emotional exit from the Channel 4 soap back in 2019, after announcing to mum Goldie (Chelsee Healey) that he was going travelling.

Dubbing his time away the 'Prince World Tour', his last act in the Oaks was saying a goodbye in honour of his late girlfriend Lily – who'd been killed off months earlier following a battle with sepsis.

At the time of his departure, Malique Thompson-Dwyer said he viewed the open-ended nature of Prince's exit as a positive sign.

After insisting he'd "miss everyone, every single person" in the Hollyoaks cast and crew, the actor said at the time: "I have been doing a lot of music and I’m trying to pursue that and get my music out there, however acting is my main passion which I won’t be giving up.

"The door is open. My character is still alive so you never know [about coming back]!"

Since leaving the soap, Malique has looked for love on Celebs Go Dating – where viewers got to see his unique talent for freestyle rap and somewhat-awkward flirting style. He also appeared on Ex on the Beach spin-off Celeb Ex in the City late last year.

Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
