Mallorca Streets Flood as Storm Hits Spanish Island
Heavy rain led to flooding in Mallorca, Spain, on Tuesday, September 19, as a storm affected the Mediterranean island.
The Spanish meteorological agency (AEMET) issued weather alerts for the Balearic Islands and the northern Spanish coast, warning residents of persistent rain and stormy weather. Mallorca was under an orange alert, as torrential rain was expected, local emergency officials said.
Almost an inch of rain fell in the Port of Palma in Mallorca over a period of two hours, according to AEMET.
