Seeing as the Malteser Truffles are always the first chocolates to go from a box of Celebrations (and the Malteaster Bunny is better than any Easter egg!), it was about time Maltesers brought out a year-round version, right?

Right - which is probably why they've done exactly that, alongside Malteser Buttons: little milk chocolates filled with malty pieces. YUM.

The truffles, which will cost from £1.99, are essentially like Malteser bunnies in truffle-form - they're dome shaped with a flat bottom, a chocolate base full of malt balls and a creamy filling, all covered in milk chocolate.

Yum, yum and YUM. And did we mention they'll come in small, medium and large gift boxes?

Rebecca Shepheard-Walwyn, Brand Director at Maltesers said: "We are extremely excited to be launching these new products. Maltesers Buttons is a new bitesize way to enjoy our signature crunchy chocolate while Maltesers Truffles is a perfect gift for any occasion – if you can bear to give them away!'

The Buttons are little chocolates filled with malty pieces, and yeah, they sound delicious. Mars say both products will be on sale nationwide from mid-July.

The Maltesers' launch comes off the back of Kit Kat announcing the arrival of millennial pink Kit Kats in the UK, with the four-finger wafer bar - officially known as Kit Kat Ruby - gets its colour from Ruby cocoa beans, which add a berry-flavoured taste to the product, without the addition of any flavour or colour.

In February, lemon drizzle Kit Kats were spotted by shoppers in Asda, and a new Senses range has just launched. It includes hazelnut, salted caramel, and double chocolate flavours, which come individually wrapped a sharing box.

Anyone else need some chocolate asap?
