Mammatus Clouds Glide Over Eastern Colorado as State Hit by Severe Storms

Mammatus clouds were spotted gliding over Colorado’s east on April 27 as the Centennial State was hit by severe storms.

This footage, shot by Jennifer Walton, shows the puffy storm clouds hovering above the small town of Stratton.

“Really nice mammatus tonight on the backside of the departing storms,” Walton wrote of the experience.

In nearby Kit Carson, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning. Credit: Jennifer Walton via Storyful
