Man, 19, suffers serious injuries in Leicestershire M1 crash
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on an M1 exit slip road in Leicestershire. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said a single-car collision was reported at junction 21A near Kirby Muxloe at 3.05am this morning (Sunday, September 15).
The crash happened on the exit slip road which leads onto the A46, the force said. The car involved was a white Volkswagen Polo.
East Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance and the driver – a 19-year-old man – was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries. No-one else was reported to be in the car and no other injuries have been reported, the force said.

An investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident has begun, a force spokesperson said. Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are continuing to establish what has happened and how it has happened and have been speaking to a number of people who were at the scene.
“We continue to appeal for further information from anyone who may have been in the area and has not yet spoken to us. If you were in the area during the early hours of this morning (Sunday) and saw the incident, or if you saw the vehicle travelling beforehand, please get in touch.
