Man, 20, dies in crash as motorbike leaves road

A motorcyclist has died after a single-vehicle crash, police have confirmed. The 20-year-old died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash which happened on Saturday night.

The tragedy happened on the A44 between Llangurig and Sweet Lamb, Powys, and police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. The crash saw a black Honda motorcycle that was travelling eastbound, in the direction of Llangurig, leave the road between 7.55pm and 8.05pm on June 22, WalesOnline reports.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "Sadly the rider, a 20-year-old man, died as a result of his injuries." His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The road was closed overnight so accident investigation could be carried out and was re-opened by 7am. Anyone with information, particularly anyone who saw the motorcycle before the crash or captured it on dashcam, is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police either online at, by emailing, or by calling 101 and quoting reference 24*552343.
