Man, 21, in hospital after 'serious crash' with HGV on M8 near Coatbridge
A 21-year-old driver has been hospitalised following a "serious crash" on the M8.
The crash, involving an HGV and a Corsa, happened at around 12.55am on Tuesday, November 26 on the westbound carriageway near junction 7 at Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.
The 21-year-old driver of the Corsa was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The 59-year-old driver of the HGV was uninjured.
The road re-opened at around 6.45am.
Police are now appealing for dash cam footage of the incident.
Sergeant Elaine Scott of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation into this serious crash continues and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dash cam footage, to please get in touch.

“The road was closed for around six hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.
“Information can be passed to Police Scotland by calling 101, and quoting reference 0116 of 26 November, 2024.”
