Man, 21, rushed to hospital in serious condition after Greenock attempted murder

A young man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition following an attempted murder in Greenock.

The incident happened at around 12.10am on Saturday (September 28) when officers were called to reports of a injured 21-year-old man in the West Blackhall Street area of the town.

He was rushed to hospital where police say he remains in a serious condition. West Blackhall Street at Jamaica Street in Greenock remains closed while enquiries are carried out.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan said: “We are looking for any witnesses who had been in the area around the time of this incident to contact police.

“Additionally, anyone with any CCTV or dash-cam footage around this time which may assist in our enquiries is asked to come forward.”
