Man, 23, arrested over murder of schoolboy Jaden Moodie

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of schoolboy Jaden Moodie.

Jaden, 14, was stabbed to death in Bickley Road, Leyton on January 8, becoming one of the first victims of knife crime this year.

The teenager has been described as “kind, helpful, very funny and generous” by friends and was someone who “cared about others”.

Friends also said the youngster was an aspiring boxer and was thought to have moved to London months before he died.

Scotland Yard said a man was arrested on Thursday and is currently being held in an east London police station.

The force said detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate the teen’s death and would appeal to anyone with information who has not approached the police yet, to do so.

The latest arrest comes after an 18-year-old man was charged with murdering Jaden earlier this year.
