Man, 26, dies after motorbike crash on rural north-east road with teenager in hospital

A 26-year-old man has died after a crash on a rural north-east road in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the B9014 near Keith at the junction with the B9115 at Drummuir at around 6.35am.

The crash involved a black and white Honda CBR 125 motorcycle, with the 26-year-old man tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware.

An 18-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, with his condition described as stable.

The road was shut for around seven hours before being reopened by police at 1.45pm.

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the crash or those with dashcam footage to get in touch as they continue their investigation.

Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"We are asking anyone who was driving in the area in the early hours of the morning and who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

"Please check dash-cams to see if anything that could assist with our investigation has been captured."
