Man, 41, 'killed by own car' while working on it on driveway

Police have launched an investigation after a man was killed when he was apparently run over by a car while working on it.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after the incident on Saturday afternoon (1 April) in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

They said it is believed that the 41-year-old man had been working on a black car on a driveway on Broad Oak Way just before 5pm.

For "reasons not yet known", they said the vehicle had moved, causing serious injuries to the man which later proved fatal.

Sergeant David McIlwhan, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are investigating the circumstances of this incident.

"If you were passing when or just before the incident happened or have dashcam footage that could help us understand what happened, we would like to speak to you."
