Man (85) in critical condition following Kinross-shire crash involving lorry

A man is in critical condition in hospital following a serious crash in Kinross-shire yesterday.

The elderly man (85) was travelling in his red Ford Fiesta on the A977 near the village of Blairingone the collision with a white DAF lorry.

The incident occurred yesterday (Thursday, September 19) around 5pm.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the Fiesta was rushed to Perth Royal Infirmary where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road was closed and re-opened around 11.50pm.

Road policing officers are now appealing for information from the public as enquiries into the crash continue.

Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone witnessed the crash or believes they saw either of the vehicles involved beforehand, to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation to contact us.”
