**An earlier version of this article stated Kieran Williams had entered a plea to the charge of dangerous driving. This was incorrect and we are happy to make this clear**

A man appeared in court charged with causing a dad-of-two's death by dangerous driving. Vinny Lawrence died aged 48 after a crash involving his Honda motorbike and a Vauxhall Astra on Northern Perimeter Road in Netherton on the evening of July 19 last year.

Kieran Williams, of Waterside in Netherton, was charged with causing his death by dangerous driving, as well as driving while unfit through drugs on the same date. Appearing before Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 19, the 24-year-old was not asked to enter pleas.

Williams will now appear before Liverpool Crown Court on December 17 and was released on unconditional bail until this date by District Judge Wendy Lloyd.

The ECHO previously reported that emergency services attended the scene shortly after 11pm with two men, aged 22 and 25, being arrested in the aftermath. The former was subsequently released by Merseyside Police with no further action being taken against him.

Mr Lawrence's family paid tribute to him following his death, saying in a statement: "In loving memory of Vincent, Vinny, tragically taken too soon. Sadly missed by his, father, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces and his two beautiful sons. Love you forever."
