Man airlifted to trauma unit after serious assault at property

A man was airlifted to a major trauma unit after an assault at a property. Police were called to the incident in the Acton area of Wrexham on Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple police vehicles attended along with the ambulance service - including the Wales Air Ambulance. A 27-year-old man was taken by helicopter to the trauma unit at Stoke Hospital with serious injuries.

A 19-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of wounding.

North Wales Police said: "Emergency services responded to a report of an assault at a property in the Acton area of Wrexham shortly after 2.45pm this afternoon. A 27-year-old man has been taken to Stoke hospital with serious injuries.

"A 19-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been taken to police custody."

Acting Detective Inspector Claire Roberts said: “This was a contained incident that has now concluded, and we have no ongoing concerns for the community. Thank you to residents for their support whilst emergency services dealt with the incident that has now concluded.”
