Man arrested after £300 worth of whiskey stolen from Asda
A man has been arrested after £300 worth of whiskey was stolen from Asda in Skelmersdale. Officers from Skelmersdale Police were called to the Asda store on Ingram Road at around 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, October 10).
When officers arrived they arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of theft. The man remains in custody. The arrest comes as part of Operation Vulture, which is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.
The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
