Man arrested after car ploughs into Essex pub, leaving one dead and three injured
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a car ploughed into a pub in Essex, leaving one man dead and three people injured.
A 36-year-old man died at the scene after a Nissan Qashqai crashed into the Spinnaker pub in Colchester.
A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries, Essex Police said.

Two other people, a 34-year-old woman and 33-year-old man, were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police said officers were called to the pub in Hythe Quay to reports of a car hitting the pub just after 12.50am on Sunday.

The force said the arrested man has also been detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, death by dangerous driving and assault.
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw a white Nissan Qashqai in the area or was in the pub at the time of the incident to come forward.
