Man arrested after being tasered by police

A man was tasered and arrested by police this evening. Emergency services were called to Becket Street in Kirkdale at around 5.30pm on Monday, November 18.

Police were called to reports of a man in possession of a meat cleaver. He was tasered and then detained. The man has been arrested on suspicion of Affray and will be taken to a police station.

No members of the public were injured during the incident, police have confirmed. Anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to come forward is asked to contact @MerpolCC or 101 with reference 24000977435.
