Police arrested a man after he refused to leave a Cheesecake Factory in Arlington, Virginia, where he and a crowd of unruly DoorDash drivers were picking up orders during a free cheesecake promotion on Wednesday, December 5.
Earlier this week, Cheesecake Factory announced that it would give away 40,000 free slices of cheesecake to customers ordering through a new DoorDash app. On Wednesday, the high volume of orders crippled an Arlington location. Due to severe delays as well as a number of parking issues outside the restaurant, a crowd of drivers for the food delivery company grew restless and scuffles broke out. When police responded to the location and asked drivers to leave, one man refused.
