Man arrested for 'contaminating food with syringes'

Police have arrested a man suspected of contaminating food after items in 3 supermarkets in west London were found to be injected with syringes. Officers were first called just before 8pm on Wednesday to reports of a man shouting abuse at people on the street. The injected products are believed to processed meat and microwavable products and he is alleged to have visited Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury in Fulham Palace Road. He was taken into custody and accused of trying to cause public harm or anxiety. It is currently not known how many items were affected or what substance was used. .
