A man has been arrested following a spate of alleged sex attacks in a Birmingham park. West Midlands Police have been investigating reports of a man approaching women and girls, outraging public decency and a sexual assault which all happened in Highbury Park in Kings Heath during the last week.

Sergeant Louise Nicholls, from the local neighbourhood team, said: "We take violence against women and girls very seriously and as soon as we were made aware of the offences, we put measures in place to ensure the safety of people using the park.
"We have now made an arrest, but this is not the end of our investigations and we will be working to ensure that the park remains a safe place to visit."
Moseley and Kings Heath Councillor Izzy Knowles said: "I am pleased to hear that an arrest has now been made and to see extra patrols today. Our parks are really important for people’s well being and enjoyment and nobody should ever be made to feel unsafe to use them.
"It’s good the police have acted promptly in tackling this." Anyone who affected by this or would like to speak to police should call on 101, quoting 20/971487/24.
