Man arrested and ordered to pay £100 after Surrey church smashed with brick

A man has been ordered to pay £100 in compensation after damaging a Surrey church with a brick. Police were called to St Peters Shared Church on Friday, January 24.

There, doors and a glass pane had been found smashed with a brick. Staff then located the man responsible who was still inside the church sleeping.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested Richard Fradley, 34, for criminal damage. Fradley, of Glen Court, Addlestone, appeared at court on Monday, January 27.

He was ordered to pay £100 compensation following the damages. An application has also been made for benefit deduction and a collection order.
