Man arrested as police find knife after fight in Lewisham alleyway

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon following a fight in Catford, Lewisham, this morning (Friday, November 22). Policed rushed to the scene in an alleyway off Rushey Green, SE6, after receiving reports of two men fighting at 9.30am.

Officers attended the scene and one man, believed aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was recovered. The other man was not at the scene and police are making enquiries to find him.

There are no reports of any injuries in relation to this incident at this time.

The Met Police released a statement about the fight. A spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 09:30hrs on Friday, 22 November to reports of two men fighting in an alleyway off Rushey Green, SE6. Officers attended the scene and one man, believed aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a knife was recovered.

"The other man was not at the location and enquiries are ongoing to locate him. No reports of any injuries at this time."
