Man arrested on suspicion of murder after concern for safety call for woman
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a concern for safety call for a woman. Emergency services were called to Brewster Street in Kirkdale at around 8.05am today, Friday, September 27.
It followed a report of a concern for safety of a woman in her 40s. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and has yet to be formally identified, police said.
A 46-year-old man from Sefton has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody to be questioned and officers are conducting house to house enquiries in the area and a forensic examination of the scene is taking place.

A post-mortem examination will take place to establish her cause of death. Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: “I would really like to urge anyone who may be a victim of domestic abuse, or know someone who is a victim, to please reach out for help.
