Man arrested after two people injured at Preston railway station
A man has been arrested after two people were injured during an incident at Preston Railway Station.
Police were called to the station late on Saturday night (September 7). The Fishergate entrance to the station was closed while officers dealt with the incident. Police said the incident was isolated and there was no wider threat to the public.
In a statement on Facebook, Preston Police said at the time: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident at Preston Railway Station in which two people have been injured.
"Just to reassure you, a man has been arrested and is on his way to custody. This is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.
"The Fishergate entrance to the station has been closed, however railway users can still gain access via the Butler Street entrance and trains are running as normal. Due to the increased number of pedestrians using that entrance, we have placed a temporary road closure on Butler Street.
"There may be some delays on the railway line because of demand, so people may want to consider alternative travel arrangements."
