Man Arrested After Woman Shot Dead In Hinckley

A woman has been found shot dead at a house in Leicestershire.

Police were called to an address in Sunnydale Road, Hinckley, at about 10.15pm on Sunday following reports of a shooting.

A woman was confirmed dead at the scene, having suffered a single gunshot wound.

One man has been arrested but police are trying to trace two other people who they believe were in the house at the time.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and found a woman in the house with a single gunshot wound and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

"An area around the house has been cordoned off while police carry out their inquiries.

"A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.

"Inquiries are still in the early stages and police are urging anyone with information to come forward."
