Man attacked and robbed in Scots street as police launch probe
A man was attacked and robbed of his wallet and jewellery in a Scots street yesterday afternoon. The 56-year-old was targeted in Port Glasgow.
Police are now Investigating the incident, which took place in the Inverclyde town's Montgomerie Street at around 2pm and was reported to officers around 4.35pm.
The victim was rushed to the nearby Inverclyde Royal Hospital where he was treated by medics and then released. Officers are now appealing to the public for information.

They say there are two suspects over the crime on Saturday, November 23, describing them as white and aged between 20 and 30 years old.
They are both said to be of slim build, and one was wearing grey clothing at the time of the assault and robbery, while the other was wearing black clothing.
Detective Constable Agnieszka Telford said: "Our investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the two men responsible.
"If you were in the Montgomerie Street area on Saturday afternoon and witnessed anything suspicious or relevant to this enquiry, please contact us.
"Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 2473 of 23 November. Alternatively, contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
