A Colchester man has been ordered not to contact two women or face being sent to prison. Kieran Hibble was given an interim stalking prevention order against to protect the women.

Hibble, 27, is subject to the interim order until July whilst an application for a stalking prevention order is determined. It means he is banned from contacting the women or physically approaching them.

They are also banned from using any vehicle to deliberately cause distress or make excessive noise, making reference to either woman on social media or creating any social media account under a pseudonym or alias. Hibble is also banned from the St John's and Shrub End areas of Colchester.

Hibble must also provide police with access to his social media accounts, mobile phones, computers, tablets when required. Each condition will be strictly monitored by officers from our Colchester domestic abuse problem solving team (DAPST).

Any proven breach of the interim order would make Hibble liable for a prison sentence of up to five years. Sergeant Sonia Mirrington-French, of Colchester DAPST, said: “This interim order provides protection for these two women, and I can guarantee that each of these conditions will be rigorously enforced by our DAPST officers whilst it is in place.

“Our domestic teams work day and night to ensure those people who pose a risk to women and girls in Essex are monitored – when that’s the appropriate tactic to use – but as this example shows, we will also enforce upon them when the situation calls for it. Women do not have to put up with Kieran Hibble’s behaviour – and we will ensure they no longer have to."
