Man burst into shop, shouted racial slurs and exposed himself

Merseyside police want to track down this man following the incident, which took place on October 18

A man went into a shop in Birkenhead and shouted racial slurs at the shopkeeper before exposing himself. The incident began at 8.55am on October 18, when the walked into the shop on Borough Road and shouted abuse at a member of staff before leaving.

The same man returned to the shop just before 2.35pm the same day, when he shouted racist slurs and exposed himself.

Merseyside Police have today, November 27, released CCTV images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation. Two images show a brown-haired white man in a grey Adidas T-shirt, light grey shorts, black socks and dark trainers carrying a plastic bag; while the other two images appear to show the same man in a grey tracksuit.

Constable Bev Draper said: “Nobody should be subject to such hateful abuse as they go about their business, trying to earn a living. The threatening and aggressive behaviour shown by the offender has no place in Merseyside, and we are determined to bring the offender to justice.

“We deal with any such reports with compassion and sensitivity, acting on all information to bring offenders to justice and encourage anyone who has been a victim of hate crime to contact us. If you are the man pictured or recognise him, please contact us.”
