'Man and car collision' closes Worksop road as emergency services attend

A road in a Nottinghamshire town has been closed following a collision between a man and a car. The incident took place just before 12 pm on Thursday, September 12, at the Priorswell Road car park in Worksop.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed in a post on X (previously Twitter) at 2.14pm that emergency services were in attendance as the road was closed in both directions. The force has also advised people to avoid the area while the incident is cleared.

The statement reads: "Our officers are currently in attendance following a collision involving a man and a car in Worksop. Emergency services were called to the Priorswell Road car park at around 11.50am today (Thursday 12 September).

"The road has been closed while officers remain at the scene. The road is expected is remain closed for some time.

"People are advised to avoid the area if possible. Anyone who has any information is urged to call 101, quoting incident number 270 of 12 September."

According to Google Maps, as of 2.35pm, Priorswell Road was closed between Shelley Street and Memorial Avenue.
