Man charged following crossbow attack in Camborne

A man has been charged in relation to a serious assault that took place in Camborne on Thursday, November 21. The incident left the victim, a man in his 30s, fighting for his life.

Devon and Cornwall Police said that a crossbow was seized during the investigation, which is believed to be linked to the incident.

A man was arrested at around 11 pm on Saturday, November 23, on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into custody at Camborne Police Station.

Now, the Crown Prosecution Service [CPS] has authorised a charge of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm without intent. Jason Simmons, aged 56, of Pengegon Way, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 25.
