Rudy Giuliani has been suspended from practising law in New York because he made false statements while trying to overturn the US presidential election in favour of Donald Trump. The decision to prevent Mr Giuliani from working as a lawyer was made by an attorney disciplinary panel in the state. The panel said there was "uncontroverted evidence" that Mr Giuliani made false statements to the courts, public and politicians when he claimed the election was stolen through fraud.
Europe's football governing body UEFA has abolished the away goals rule for all of its club competitions from next season. Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Bayern Munich in last season's Champions League quarter-finals will go down in history as the last away goals result in the tournament before the rule change. Fully vaccinated people in England will be able to travel to an amber list country without having to quarantine on their return "later this summer", the government plans. When the new exemption for those who have had two COVID jabs comes into force, the guidance that people should only travel to amber list countries for "essential" reasons will also be dropped, the Department for Transport has said. It means that at that point, anyone will be able to travel to countries in the amber category - including France, Portugal and Germany - no matter the reason for their trip.
