Man charged with murder after young man rammed with car outside north London Tube station

A man has been charged with murder after a young man who was run down with a car outside a Tube station in north London died in hospital.

Council worker Gopinath Kasivisuwanathan, 27, was injured when he was run down during a brawl outside Alperton tube station, in the early hours of Tuesday. He died in hospital that evening.

Camasan Judes Emanuvel, 35, was arrested following the incident and charged with murder on Friday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Eight other men, aged between 21 and 30, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray. Four were subsequently held on suspicion of murder and one on suspicion of attempted murder.

The three others were further arrested for grievous bodily harm and all eight were released on bail until mid-May.

Another man, aged 21, who was also hurt in the incident was discharged from hospital after treatment, police said.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have urged witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage of the incident to contact 101 or call Crimestoppers.
