Man charged after 'shop worker assaulted in Coventry robbery'
Officers have charged a man after a robbery at a Coventry newsagents. West Midlands Police say they arrested Jason Gordon after the alleged incident in Station Street East in Foleshill at around 6.50am on August 8.
The 46-year-old was charged with assaulting a shop worker, as well as robbery, and has been remanded to appear before magistrates on Monday, September 9. Police said the arrest was part of Operation Ruby, which aimed to reduce robbery in the city, and the wider West Midlands.

A spokesman for the force said: "We've charged a man after a shop worker was assaulted during a robbery at a newsagents in Coventry. We arrested Jason Gordon in connection with the incident in Station Street East at around 6.50am on 8 August.
"The 46-year-old from Coventry has now been charged with robbery and remanded to appear before magistrates tomorrow (September 9)."
