Man City injury news as Erling Haaland doubt overshadows two players passed fit
The availability of Erling Haaland is the key question mark for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola going into their Premier League match against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium.
The death of close family friend Ivar Eggja means the club are understandably unsure whether the 24-year-old is mentally and physically able to play. Guardiola said they would decide on the day, with the player potentially absent through compassionate leave.
Whether Haaland will be available for selection is the only real thing in doubt this weekend. Rodri is seemingly ready to play for the first time this season after featuring for an hour in Spain's Nations League game against Switzerland on Sunday.

Phil Foden withdrew from the England squad because of illness but has been training with City since Wednesday. The midfielder has not played in their last two matches after coming on as a half-time substitute on the opening weekend against Chelsea.
Savinho should also be back in the squad a fortnight after missing the game versus West Ham United due to a knee problem. Foden notably did not replace the winger as he had at Stamford Bridge.
But the return of that trio follows Nathan Ake joining Oscar Bobb on the sidelines. The defender may well miss a month after coming off in some pain during the Netherlands' Nations League match against Germany. Guardiola does not expect to have Ake available until after the October international break, which would mean missing seven matches, including games versus Arsenal and Inter in the Champions League.
Bobb will also miss those matches and more after having surgery on a fractured bone in his leg before the season started. Guardiola said three to four months out in mid-August, which could coincide with the November international break or extend further than that into December.
