Who will Man City play next in the Champions League? The teams Pep Guardiola's side could draw in Last 16

Manchester City's hopes of sealing a first Champions League triumph are still on course after sealing passage to the last-16 of the competition.

Their European campaign didn’t get off to a great start with Ligue 1 side Lyon stunning the Premier League champions with a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad in their group opener.

A late David Silva winner in Hoffenheim got things back on track after the Germans had looked like following Lyon’s lead with a goal in the opening minute before back-to-back wins over Shakhtar Donetsk, 9-0 over the two games, had things looking a little more comfortable once more.

Lyon also held City to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture with a late Sergio Aguero goal ensuring a point and qualification for the knockout stages.

Having waltzed to the League title last season and, despite the setback at Chelsea, looking likely to defend it this time around, Europe is the next hurdle for City.
